Winter Fair

The Winter Fair is back! This event is open to all, so bring the family and join us for a jolly afternoon at Lace Hill Sports & Community Centre on Sunday 20th November 2022 from 2pm – 4pm. The aim of the Winter Fair event is to bring the community together in a festive celebration and support local crafters, groups and businesses. It will also be a great opportunity to start some Christmas shopping if you haven’t already.

Remembrance Day Parade

The Remembrance Day Parade is organized by the Royal British Legion and will be taking place on Sunday 13th November 2022.
The parade will form up on Market Hill before the procession moves off, walking through the town centre towards Castle Street. The parade ends at St Peter and St Paul’s Church where the War Memorial is sited. A rolling road closure, organised by Buckingham Town Council, will be in place when the parade is on the move.
Market Hill will be closed from 9 am until 12:30 pm, allowing the parade to form and disband. A rolling road closure will be in place from 10:15 am for Market Square and Castle Street. The length of West Street from the junction with Western Ave to Market Square and the High Street from the junction with High Street/Moreton Road.
 
Once the parade has reached St Peter & St Paul’s Church, the road closure will be lifted until it is ready to march back to Market Hill. Diversions will still be in place during this time.
 
We ask that motorists are patient, and if possible, avoid the town centre during the above times.

Bonfire & Fireworks

The annual Bonfire & Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 5th November in the paddock in Bourton Park from 6pm.

Schedule of events:

  • 6:00pm site opens including food traders, licensed bar and fairground games!
  • 6:10pm LED performance by Cassia Chloe
  • 7:00pm Fireworks display by Titanium Fireworks
  • 7:25pm Bonfire is lit by Buckingham Town Councillors, led by Cllr. Andy Mahi
  • 7:30pm Fire cirque performance by Cassia Chloe

River Rinse 2

The second River Rinse is taking place on Sunday 9th October 2022, going from the bypass in Bourton Park and upstream towards the cricket club.

Stowe Aqua Club members will be on hand to pull any debris from the river and volunteers and members of Buckingham Town Council will litter pick along the riverbank and collect the debris found in the river.

Bandjam

Bandjam is back on Sunday 28th August in the ‘Bull Ring’, outside Jardines Pharmacy from 1pm – 10pm. This event is organised by Bandjam and sponsored by Buckingham Town Council.

Picnic on the Pitch

To celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee, join us for a Picnic on the Pitch. On Saturday 4th June 2022 from 11am-3pm, we invite everyone to Lace Hill Sports & Community Centre for a fantastic afternoon of FREE family entertainment. Meet up with family and friends, bring a blanket and enjoy some live music, games, and bar.

 

Music in the Market

With nearly two decades under its belt, Music in the Market is a great way to start the summer. This year, it will take place on Friday 3rd June and is back in the Town Centre. With live music from 2 – 10pm, come along, bring some camping chairs and a picnic or enjoy fantastic food from local traders, including pop up stalls from Farm Slice Pizza, Go Greek, Mark’s Ices and J & L Burgers.

This event is organised by local music group Buckingham Acoustic Club whilst the Town Council facilitates the event with road closure support. Music in the Market is free to anyone who wants to attend and has a succession of local bands to enjoy.

May Day

Children from local primary schools will be taking part in the May Day celebrations on Tuesday 3rd May 2022 with traditional country dancing and may pole dancing on the green outside St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church from 11am.

Easter Bazaar

 

 

Our Easter Bazaar will take place on Sunday 10th April from 2pm-4:30pm so come along to Lace Hill Sports & Community Centre MK18 7RR and find some wonderful handmade arts and crafts as well as bespoke gifts. There will be refreshments available to purchase and free games and activities for children to enjoy including a egg hunt.

Please note that there is a small £1 entrance fee per adult but no cost for children. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Food Fair

This year’s Food Fair will take place on Saturday 26th February 2022 from 10am until 3pm in the Community Centre. Get ready to try some really scrumptious food, drinks and great products from local companies including:

Buckinghamshire Recycles will also be attending with fantastic food waste prevention tips and tools. More traders to be announced soon!
