The annual Buckingham Pancake Races returned once again to the green by St Peter and St Paul’s Church on Thursday 19th February. Despite heavy rainfall in the days prior, the ground held firm and residents turned out in great spirits to take part in the much-loved community tradition.
Participants competed across six lively categories, with treats and prizes awarded by the Mayor, Cllr Fran Davies. Buckingham Town Council was delighted to receive prize donations from Bon Maman, including gift boxes, mini jams and hazelnut spreads.
The event was kindly hosted by Cllr Martin Try, who provided his PA system to keep the races running smoothly. A special thank you also goes to Urban OM Yoga, who led a lively and fun warm-up session that left everyone feeling invigorated and ready to win.
The atmosphere was competitive yet friendly, with plenty of encouragement from spectators lining the course.
Alongside the races, families enjoyed pancake-themed colouring activities and biscuit decorating, adding to the festive feel of the afternoon.

Cllr. Robin Stuchbury, Chair of Town Centre and Events Committee said:
“Buckingham’s young people and families turned out again. We were privileged to enjoy some yoga, which I must confess I found quite testing, but most importantly we celebrated this occasion as a community. Prizes were presented by the Mayor, Councillors supported throughout, and thanks go to the event team who made it all happen safely. I can’t wait to see what Buckingham Pancake Races holds next year.”
