Buckingham Town Council’s annual Dog Show, held on 5th September in Bourton Park Paddock, was a resounding success, attracting a fantastic turnout of four-legged competitors and their owners for a day of fun, friendly competition and community spirit.
Dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages took to the show ring, from energetic youngsters to distinguished seniors, giving the judges – local dog trainer Kimberley Cox and Sophie Beacon of Woofs and Washes – the unenviable task of selecting winners from a strong field of entrants.
The event highlighted the special bond between dogs and their owners and provided a wonderful opportunity for local residents to come together and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment.
Buckingham Town Council would like to thank the generous local businesses and organisations whose sponsorship helped to make the event possible by providing an impressive selection of prizes for winners and runners-up: R&J Pets, the National Trust, Haybridge Vets, Delders Dogs, Leaders Estate Agent and Hill’s Canine.
The coveted Best in Show title was awarded to the striking Dobermann, Inca, who impressed the judges to secure the event’s top honour.
While Inca took home the overall prize, the day was a celebration of all the dogs who took part, with every entrant contributing to another successful and memorable community event.
Councillor Robin Stuchbury, Chair of Buckingham Town Centre & Events Committee commented:
This year’s event was well attended, supported and organised by Councillors, officers and volunteers. The important thing is that it was an opportunity for people to gather together with their family pets and enjoy each other’s company in a friendly competition. The entrants were a real pleasure to see.
