Buckingham families enjoy free Easter holiday events full of creativity and fun

Buckingham residents of all ages came together this Easter for two lively, free community events that sparked imagination, creativity, and plenty of smiles.

The holiday activities began on 31st March with an exciting Dinosaur Crafts event. Children were thrilled to meet two very special visitors – a baby Triceratops and a baby T‑Rex – who quickly became the stars of the day.  Everyone got hands-on with fossil‑making, created fearsome dinosaur masks, and produced an impressive array of dinosaur drawings to take home.

Creativity continued to flourish at the Green and Crafts event on Sunday, 12th April, where talent was on full display.  Attendees crafted stunning portraits, imaginative jam‑jar lanterns, and beautifully intricate dreamcatchers.  The event demonstrated how natural materials and everyday items – often destined for the recycling bin – can be transformed into unique works of art.  With a little imagination, ordinary objects became extraordinary treasures.

These free Easter activities highlighted the vibrant community spirit of Buckingham and the wonderful creativity found across all ages.

Cllr. Robin Stuchbury, Chair of the Town Centre and Events Committee, said:

Buckingham Town Council’s Town Centre and Events Committee are pleased to be able put on free events for the people of Buckingham.

This Easter holiday saw two free events: the interactive Dinosaur Crafts and our eco Green and Crafts event.  The Committee and the Council are focussed on doing everything possible to provide much needed free events, and we recognise the importance of doing so, especially during the school holidays.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our wonderful event team who are committed to providing enjoyable, fun events throughout the year.

I think it would be fair to say that the Events Committee Members were all looking forward to seeing the dinosaurs themselves and were very enthusiastic that this event should take place within the Old Gaol in Buckingham.  It was also great to see children and adults alike taking home their bags of crafty treasures from Sunday’s Green and Crafts event.
