Home Your Town Council News Press Release Buckingham Remembrance Day Parade

Buckingham Remembrance Day Parade

Sunday 12th November sees the Remembrance Day Parade take place in Buckingham.  The parade is organised by the Royal British Legion and will form up on Market Hill at 10:15am ready to march to the war memorial at St Peter & St Paul’s Church where the service will take place. After the service, the parade will march back to Market Hill where it will disperse.

A No Parking Order and road closure will be in affect from 7am to 12 noon. Roads affected by the closure are Castle Hill, Castle Street, Market Square, Market Hill, West Street (up to Western Ave), Bridge Street. School Lane will be one way from Nelson Street to West Street.

We ask everyone driving in the area to be patient and mindful that the road closures are in place to protect all those taking part in the Remembrance Sunday Parade.

A big screen will be in place again this year so that everyone attending the Remembrance Sunday service at St Peter & St Paul’s church can see the war memorial and service by watching it on the screen. The screen will be positioned along the external wall of the Church, close to the entrance into the Church. Signs will be put up by the gate leading to the Church, directing event attendees along the footpath and to the viewing area. The screen is jointly funded by Buckingham Royal British Legion and Buckingham Town Council.

As the event is taking place outside and the weather unpredictable, please make sure that you dress for the weather and wear sensible footwear as the grass may be wet and the ground soft.
