SUMMARY:Remembrance Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Remembrance Day Parade is organized by the Royal British Legion and will be taking place on Sunday 13th November 2022.\n\nThe parade will form up on Market Hill before the procession moves off\, walking through the town centre towards Castle Street. The parade ends at St Peter and St Paul’s Church where the War Memorial is sited. A rolling road closure\, organised by Buckingham Town Council\, will be in place when the parade is on the move.\n\n\n\nMarket Hill will be closed from 9 am until 12:30 pm\, allowing the parade to form and disband. A rolling road closure will be in place from 10:15 am for Market Square and Castle Street. The length of West Street from the junction with Western Ave to Market Square and the High Street from the junction with High Street/Moreton Road.\n\n\n \n\n\nOnce the parade has reached St Peter & St Paul’s Church\, the road closure will be lifted until it is ready to march back to Market Hill. Diversions will still be in place during this time.\n\n\n \n\n\nWe ask that motorists are patient\, and if possible\, avoid the town centre during the above times.

DESCRIPTION:⚠️🎄🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ⚠️🎄🚨\nDue to the continued bad weather and high wind warnings in place the Buckingham Christmas Lights Switch On is cancelled.\nThis was a difficult decision for the Town Council to make\, but unfortunately the high wind speeds and the large pieces of equipment required to run the event create too great a safety risk at an outdoor event. The lights will still be turned on tonight\, at around 5.30pm.\nWith thanks to all of our volunteers\, traders\, musicians\, performers\, residents and visitors that would have joined the Town Council tonight and who have been such a big part of celebrating Buckingham in 2021. \n  \nJoin the Mayor\, Cllr Margaret Gateley\, outside the Old Gaol on Saturday 27th November for the Christmas Light Switch On. \nFestive Market from 4:00 pm\, including stalls\, hot food and drink and childrens activities. \nEntertainment will begin at 6:00pm\, including sing along Christmas Carols\, Winslow Concert Band and a performance by the Bard of Buckingham. \nThe lights will be turned on at around 7:00pm.

DESCRIPTION:Buckingham Town Council and the University of Buckingham have teamed up again to host a Wellbeing Walk on Sunday 25th July. \nEveryone is invited to walk the published route around the town\, taking in the sights and thinking about what more can be done to ensure good mental health and wellbeing for everybody. \nThe walk will start from outside the Council Chamber at 11.30 am however\, please arrive by 11am and await instructions. SUMMARY:Buckingham Fringe Week - Children's Mural Design Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Open to all children\, help to create a mural with your artwork. Between 11th and 20th July\, draw a picture of a bug\, bird\, butterfly\, insect or creature that you might see on a wildlife walk in or around Buckingham or draw yourself going for a walk.  Your drawing should be on A4 paper and cover the whole sheet. Outline your drawing in a dark colour\, preferably using a dark pencil or marker pen so that it stands out. \nThe drawings should be e-mailed to events@buckingham-tc.gov.uk by noon on Monday 20th July.  50 designs will be chosen and The Children’s Workshop will put them together as a permanent mural which will be displayed in Buckingham.
