DESCRIPTION:Organised by Buckingham Town Council.  Buckingham’s annual Dog Show will be held in Bourton Park on Saturday 7th September from 11am – 3pm. Registration starts at 11am and judging at 12pm. Classes are Cutest Puppy (5-12 months)\, Fabulous Fella\, Gorgeous Gal\, Best Rescue\, Dog Most Like Its Owner\, Golden Oldie (7yrs and over)\, Waggiest Tail\, and Junior Handler (16yrs and under). The winners of each class will then go through to best in show. Prizes will be awarded for each class.  \n\n\n\nClasses are £1.50 each (cash only). Registration forms will be available on the day and prior to the event. \n\n\n\nThis event is aimed at families and educating dog owners as well as having a fun dog show. DESCRIPTION:The Charter Fair is returning to Buckingham on Saturday 12th and 19th October 2024 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe fair operated by Nichols Amusements will arrive in town on Friday 11th October to set up for Saturday 12th October with dodgems\, sideshows and stalls. It will then return on Friday 18th October to set up for 19th October and a road closure for the town centre will be in place for both weekends.  There will also be a bus diversion in place for both weekends of the Charter Fair so if you use public transport on a regular basis\, check out the diversion notice.

SUMMARY:Remembrance Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Remembrance Day Parade is organised by the Royal British Legion and will be held on Sunday 10th November. The parade will form up on Market Hill before the procession moves off\, walking through the town centre towards Castle Street. The parade ends at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church where the War Memorial is sited. A rolling road closure\, organised by Buckingham Town Council\, will be in place when the parade is on the move. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nMarket Hill will be closed from 9am until 12:30pm\, allowing the parade to form and disband. A rolling road closure will be in place from 10:15am for Market Square and Castle Street. The length of West Street from the junction with Western Avenue to Market Square and the High Street from the junction with High Street/Moreton Road. \n\n\n\nOnce the parade has reached St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church\, the rolling road closure will be lifted until the parade is ready to march back to Market Hill. Diversions will still be in place during this time. \n\n\n\nWe ask that motorists are patient\, and if possible\, avoid the town centre during the above times.

DESCRIPTION:The Christmas Lights Switch On will be taking place on Thursday 28th November from 4pm to 7pm outside The Old Gaol. Expect carols\, festive activities\, local food vendors\, an abundance of local stalls and live entertainment. The lights will be switched on by Town Mayor\, Cllr. Anja Schaefer. Anja Schaefer. \n\n\n\nGuests are invited to browse the festive market and charity stalls\, enjoy the street entertainment including the Buckingham Table Santa Van and a free children’s craft activity at the Chantry Chapel. A number of shops remain open until 7pm this evening including shops based in Cornwall’s Meadow and Buckingham Hidden Quarter. Pop by to meet our friendly shop keepers\, purchase presents\, and warm up! \n\n\n\n5PM – PQA Buckingham will perform songs from ‘Shrek’ \n\n\n\n5.30PM – Christmas Lights Switch On! The Mayor of Buckingham will be joined by the Town Crier\, Patrick Laws\, and the Mayor’s Christmas Card contest winners\, Gracie Latham\, Pippa Livermore\, Emily Evans\, and Sihansa Malwaththage to turn on the lights. \n\n\n\nAfter the Lights are switched on\, please join us for sing along Christmas Carols and songs accompanied by the Great Horwood Silver Band. \n\n\n\n6.15PM – Bucks Gospel Fellowship Choir \n\n\n\n7PM – Closing words from the Mayor \n\n\n\nAccessibility Information: \n\n\n\nIf you are a wheelchair user there will be a limited accessible viewing area to the right of the main stage in Market Hill. Do look out for the signage or ask a Town Council marshal for directions. A SEN friendly Quiet Zone Gazebo will be in situ outside Specsavers. Ear defenders and sensory borrow bags will be available along with colouring sheets.

DESCRIPTION:This event is organised by the Buckingham Christmas Parade Committee and sponsored by Buckingham Town Council. \n\n\n\nThe Parade forms up on Chandos Road and makes its way through the town centre and back to Chandos Road. Floats\, walking groups and marching bands will make their way through Buckingham Town Centre and then back to Chandos Road. \n\n\n\n\nA road closure\, organised by the Town Council\, will be in place whilst the parade is taking place. There will also be a Bus Diversion\, so if you are a bus user\, please check the diversion route beforehand. \n\n\n\nThere will be free parking in Cornwalls Meadow car park whilst this event takes place\, courtesy of Buckinghamshire Council \n\n\n\nThe Christmas Parade will be followed by the Community Fair\,  at Buckingham Community Centre. Pop in to bag a Christmas bargain once the Parade has finished.

The event will take place on Thursday 20th February 2025 on the green outside St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church from 11am. \n\n\n\nEntry to take part is free\, just turn up with your frying pan\, headscarf\, and apron to race. Please also wear suitable clothing and shoes if you wish to participate. The categories for this event are 5 years and under\, 6-11 years\, 12-17 years\, adults\, team relay\, and walking race! Winners of each race will receive a yummy prize. \n\n\n\nIf you wish to take part in the team relay category\, your team should consist of four people.
