Once you choose a route, the app will let you know some key information - whether the route is family friendly, accessible, good for a dog walk and whether there are public toilets and food and drink available in the area.

All routes have audio options!

For more information about the different routes have a look at our six reasons to try Buxplore.

What's the best place to start for trying a route with children?

We recommend starting with Heritage for Kids or the Green route, both have lots of activities to try.

Absolutely not! Buxplore saves your progress, so feel free to take as much time as you like over each route.

Some of the routes cover large areas of Buckingham, and are designed to be completed a little at a time. Other routes can easily be completed in an hour or two.

We know that many people in our community are shielding or self-isolation. If you would like to try the app but are not able to visit the locations in person, you can visit the app on your smart phone or via a computer.

Once you have downloaded the app, press let's explore to view the routes available. Then:

  1. Tap the three lines in the top right of your screen
  2. Open the settings
  3. Turn virtual mode on

You can now access all of the information on the app wherever you have a wifi connection.

step one - open settings in the routes page
Step Two - open the settings
Step Three - turn on virtual mode

You can submit your new Buxplore: Submit your memories page. We are looking for:

  • Interesting stories
  • Personal memories
  • Photographs
  • Personal drawings
  • Audio recordings

From all over Buckingham, please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to get involved as a group or school.

In order to unlock the information at each location you need to visit that place. The map will show a red dot where you are now to help you find it.

When you arrive at the location your phone will buzz to unlock the content. If you arrive at the location and nothing happens please check your phone has location tracking and mobile data turned on.

At rural locations low phone signal may interfere with Buxplore working properly, we recommend turning on virtual mode in low signal areas.
