Flooding in Buckingham

Flooding is outside the responsibilities of Buckingham Town Council, however as it has a serious impact on the people and businesses of Buckingham, the Town Council has facilitated meetings and discussions between the responsible government departments and agencies on the ongoing topic of “flooding in the Town”.

A letter received by the Town Council from the Environment Agency in response to a question about the river Ouse maintenance to prevent flooding in the Buckingham area can be viewed here.

Recycling

Household Waste and Recycling Centre
You can dispose of a wide range of household and garden waste at Bucks County Council’s household waste and recycling centre (often called ‘the tip’). It is located at Yonder Slade, Buckingham Industrial Park, Buckingham MK18 1RZ.

For the majority of householders, in a normal car taking normal garden or household waste in bags there will be no charge. However, for some DIY waste you may need a permit. So please check with Bucks County Council at their website.

Bulky Household Waste
AVDC offer a collection service for unwanted bulky household items, with up to three items collected for a flat fee of £75. Any additional items are charged at £5 each to a maximum of 8 items in total. The service applies to normal household furniture and electrical equipment only, not DIY waste. Printer Cartridges
The Buckingham Centre, Verney Close accepts empty printer ink and toner cartridges for recycling.

Batteries
The Buckingham Centre, Verney Close is now accepting your old batteries (but not car).
All domestic batteries (eg watch, phone, torch) and car batteries can be taken to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre.

Gritting/ Salt Bins

BCC fill up the designated Salt Bins during September/October each year. For more information call 0845 2302882 or email tfb@buckscc.gov.uk
